This version of the zero water filter works like this: If you try to lift the top cover by holding the top center groove, you can't physically do lift it - it's so tight it won't let you in. To actually remove the top cover you have to put your finger in the hole where the water comes out, lift it and only then you can remove the top cover. it can be annoying. So I had to use plumber's putty to make an extra handle on the lid, but even then you can't just gently lift the lid because you end up lifting the whole jar, so you have to pull very quickly to open the lid. The previous jug didn't have this problem, you could just lift the lid with one hand without altering it in any way.
