I think we have green laundry here. Okay, picks are made from cornstarch, which needs a binder to hold its shape, but that binder is polypropylene (sp?), which is a plastic. So yes, maybe they're recyclable, but they're still plastic and still require equipment to process them. It would be better if they were fully compostable. Apart from the environmental aspect, this is a really good choice. They are strong and the floss doesn't break easily and is thin enough to work well with tight teeth. The pick on the back is quite pointed, which is very useful for reaching those hard-to-reach places.
