Review on Comica Traxshot: Ultimate All-in-One Shotgun Microphone for Camera, iPhone, and Smartphone by Tiffany Smith

This mic is definitely an upgrade from my D5200. The mic fits the camera perfectly and the shock absorber gets the job done. I have 2 recommendations, one of which is to consider future Wi-Fi or Bluetooth capabilities. The wired mode works fine but can be a bit frustrating when using the on-screen viewfinder. Second is the possibility of greater control over the internal equalizer. The overall tone and sound picked up by the microphone is decent, but it prioritizes high frequencies. There is a low-frequency rumble removal feature, but it would be nice to have a few more options. Even if you had to plug a mic into a PC/Mac/tablet via USB and make adjustments or add a few custom slots, it would be nice for interview/singer clarity or dynamic bass/mid/treble boost. Overall I think this mic does what it was designed to do and the adjustable spreader arms are good for both narrow and wide pickups. The battery is decent and should last a couple of hours and charges fairly quickly.
