Review on MTG Commander EDH Tray With Life Counter – Wooden Tray Compatible For Magic The Gathering by Jerardo Yatnalkar

Cool overall, details could improve

So overall I think this is a really cool accessory, but there is one small issue with their attention to detail that bugs me and one mechanical nuance I dislike. Those with OCD take note:The detail I dislike is that the command damage tracker doesn’t have a 0 or a 21 (only goes 1-20). It’s so awkward that it starts at 1, especially if you have a commander with 1 power. You can kind of cover up the 2 in the 20 with the dial so it mostly looks like zero, but it’s a big oversight. It also takes away some enjoyment when you actually win with commander damage but can’t get the satisfaction of setting the dial to 21.The mechanical issue is that the wheels only spin in one direction ("down” i.e. 9 -> 8 -> 7 etc.), so if you’re playing a deck that frequently gains life you have to spin the wheel all the way around to go back to the number that’s one higher. It’s fine, but just requires a little more thought/work.Other than that, the assembly was a bunch of work (you build it yourself) but I actually enjoyed it, though I like crafty stuff/DIY. Probably took about an hour. It feels like good quality/sturdy materials and it’s a cool accessory overall. No tools needed, but it’s definitely something where you have to pay attention.Would be absolutely in love with it if the numbers went 0-21.
