Be careful how much pressure you apply during assembly!

This was hands down one of the hardest things I've ever assembled. I was looking forward to the challenge of assembly and knew what I was getting into, but I didn't expect to have to push and pry so hard to get some of the pieces through the slots.I have big hands and I had a hard time getting some of the pieces together. The little U shaped pegs in particular don't seem to fit the holes all that well - you really need some kind of took to apply pressure against the flat part to force them…

Pros
  • COMPACT SIZE - This Commander / EDH Card Tray measures 5 1/2" long, 5" wide and 1/5" thick. It holds all of your commander relevant information in a compact space (perfect for small tables).
Cons
  • Possible defects in the design or manufacturing process

Good Stuff for my opinion

I'm not sure why some of these comments complain about a twenty-dollar product like it broke into their house, opened all the containers in their fridge and knocked over every piece of furniture just to spite them. The product is really fine, it comes with a piece of sandpaper so that you can properly fit together all the pieces without issue. While you do have to handle the assembly with care, it isn't difficult, and the instructions are very clear with pictures for reference to boot. It took…

Pros
  • 6.02 x 5.98 x 1.22 inches
Cons
  • The wooden tray may not be sturdy enough to withstand constant use

One of the best MTG purchases ever!

Commander is fun enough as it is, but making it easier to keep track of each opponents commander damage, while displaying your own commander in a glorious fashion is a great way to add some further enjoyment to the game. I've never pulled out this life counter and not gotten at least one compliment. It is now the envy of my entire play group! A must have for the avid MTG player!

Pros
  • Compatible with all standard life counters for versatile gameplay
Cons
  • Shipping costs may add up to the overall cost of the product

So while I personally think the concept is great, and the look is pretty nice, the material it’s made of is really not the best for making sure the product doesn’t break over time. I personally think that this is a great idea but with unfortunately poor execution. The size is one thing that certainly needs to be addressed. When you put a sleeved deck of 99 cards where they are supposed to go, you have no means of adjusting the commander damage dials without having to crane over and finagle…

Pros
  • CZYY
Cons
  • Life counter mechanism may malfunction over time

Happy with end result.

It was not very easy to put together, but that's somewhat expected for what it is. We did break a couple of peices trying to force it together but they included extras for that reason. Very happy with end result.

Pros
  • SOLID & NATURAL MATERIAL - All laser cut and etched from high-quality birch plywood, variations of wood grain and color each EDH tray is unique. Laser cutting the designs into the wood give each piece a pleasant campfire smell!
Cons
  • The tray may not fit customized card sleeves

Assembly, Material, design

I like the concept of building the thing yourself, it gives you something to do. BUT. The instructions are not good, and the material is so fragile that it falls apart when assembling, ( they say to shave the bits of the pieces if they're hard to put in). If you do that you also run the risk of actually destroying the piece. All and all don't waste your money on this, its not properly design to be built by yourself.

Pros
  • IDEAL GIFT FOR MTG PLAYER - The Command Zone Boards are the perfect gift for all ages on any occasion. All Magic: The Gathering Players will love their new game piece to help spice up the game and impress their friends. Pretty fun to show off for MTG nights!
Cons
  • Pricey compared to other similar products in the market

Cool overall, details could improve

So overall I think this is a really cool accessory, but there is one small issue with their attention to detail that bugs me and one mechanical nuance I dislike. Those with OCD take note:The detail I dislike is that the command damage tracker doesn’t have a 0 or a 21 (only goes 1-20). It’s so awkward that it starts at 1, especially if you have a commander with 1 power. You can kind of cover up the 2 in the 20 with the dial so it mostly looks like zero, but it’s a big oversight. It also takes…

Pros
  • He is so excited to walk into tcg club with this guy
Cons
  • Difficult Assembly

Cool but not perfect

Pieces are very delicate. Some don't fit properly. Turning the counters and life is hard. I likely will never use it. Cool idea though.

Pros
  • Makes a stunning centerpiece for your game nights
Cons
  • Inadequate customer support for product queries or concerns

Nice Gift buuut in my review

My sons review: he said it is a nice gift and pretty but not something he can travel with to his local game store where he plays. He said that the "tolerances" are very tight and make it difficult to put together. Any variance on the cutting makes it very hard to press pieces together. He cracked a piece when assembling but did say that it had extra pieces. He said it is slightly bowed "pringling" and therefor doesn't sit level on a desk.It looks good but he does worry that because the design is…

Pros
  • Enhances the overall enjoyment of the game by providing a luxurious experience
Cons
  • The product may be too heavy to carry around easily

It's the product that counts!

A fun addition to any EDH/CEDH match. This gadget does it all for up to 3 opponents. Fun to assemble, looks cool and very functional. I get compliments on it every time I play.

Pros
  • Provides a tactile, hands-on experience that complements the intensity of the game
Cons
  • The product may have a longer wait time for international shipping

Sweet life counter with A lot of paint options.

This is definitely the coolest life counter I’ve ever purchased. I’m obviously in the midst of paint in the midst of painting mine. You do have to assemble it but its pretty easy I recommend having some wood glue if you want it to hold forever but some simple elmers would work too. Great product for us needs!

Pros
  • Provides a beautiful backdrop to your favorite MTG cards and tokens
Cons
  • The wooden tray may warp or crack over time

takes time and patience

Wow this reminded me of model kits from when I was a kid. It took a little time but looks like if your creative enough you can modify it to your liking. The life counter rubs together a bit and isn't smooth but i think that's fixable

Pros
  • Easily accommodates even the most complex set of rules and playing conditions
Cons
  • May require additional accessories or tools for assembly

Wonderful project - my new review

This was a gift for my husband. He had so much fun assembling it, said it reminded him of his childhood. And the finished product is amazing. I may order more as gifts

Pros
  • Simplifies game setup and cleanup for a more streamlined experience
Cons
  • Packaging may not be sturdy enough to prevent damage during transportation

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not worth the trouble too fragile.

I've only assembled 2 pieces together and it's already splintering to bits. I figured the wood is cheap but for $21 this needs to come assembled not in 76 pieces and by piece 4 it is breaking. Not a good gift, too frustrating and not worth the time when there are life counter aps for phones that don't need any assembly. ;) Would look nice if it is possible to assemble without breaking, but the pieces fit too tightly and it just splinters the wood as you push it in.

Pros
  • Highly compatible with other gaming accessories
Cons
  • May not be suitable for gamers who prefer to keep their cards hidden during play

great product except life counter only turns down

Great product except life counter only turns down so adding 1 life is a 9 spin and you have to remember where you started from. Once the counter is on it can't easily be replaced with a more functional normal one.

Pros
  • Perfect for players who enjoy customizing their decks with unique sleeves and cards
Cons
  • Life counter numbers may be too small to read comfortably during gameplay

Assembly required good for me

Mostly wanted to mention a couple specific things. If you are a buying this for a gift the outside of the package shows no image of final product or anything that’s actually included, so you have to open it and then open the parts to find the instructions which has a picture of the final product. A little disappointing because it’s a lot of extra steps for the person receiving to see what they’re being given. Secondly, the installation is fairly easy but will require the use of a knife or…

Pros
  • Enhances the accessibility of the game for all players, regardless of experience level
Cons
  • The product may have a shorter lifespan compared to other similar products

Fragile and brutal to assemble

No where in this product did it mention how much work assembly is. Tried assembly, lots of pieces too big or too small, sanding down helped but ruined a lot of the look and only partially fixed the problem. Other pieces for turning (not wheel itself) were very tough to turn and broke easily if you applied any pressure. Would not recommend :/ assembly needs to be refined a lot before I'd reccomed this gift to anyone

Pros
  • Saves time during gameplay by keeping track of life totals for all players
Cons
  • Not recommended for outdoor gaming events or locations

A lesson to read reviews before impulse buying

I thought this would be a nice little widget for commander, but tbh it just kinda made me feel like a tool lol. That's not why I'm rating it low. It's my own fault for impulse buying before reading the reviews on what to expect. Otherwise I would have saved my $20. I'm rating it low because we are expected to assemble it ourselves and it is such a pain in the butt to put together. Especially if you don't have the proper tools. On paper the idea of this little widget is kinda cool, but when you're

Pros
  • Heightens the experience of playing with friends and family
Cons
  • The tray may require regular maintenance to keep it in optimal condition

Eh, suggests you use glue (not included) and requires patience (of which I am in short supply).I ended up getting some wood glue to use.It is sort of wood like, I would say something between wood and cardboard. If you like building stuff, this may be for you. But you need some patience (and glue) to go a good job.

Pros
  • Durable construction ensures long-lasting use
Cons
  • Time-consuming to set up the life counter mechanism

Game Counter best in my review

The instructions were easy to follow but difficult to assemble.lots of little parts that fit snugly together.do like that the include one extra horned toggle. Arrived quickly and nothing broke.with the frustration of assembly not sure I would buy again.

Pros
  • Easy to transport for gaming on the go
Cons
  • May not be suitable for beginners who own a small collection of cards
