All grinders of this type have the disadvantage that the brass nut at the top that holds the round cap in place is tends to detach. The roughness scale at the bottom is continuous and also tends to move around a bit. It's also hard to tell what the actual setting is as the markings on the main body are a faint little dot. But these are minor flaws that are offset by the build quality. I would buy it again but I don't have to as it lasts forever.
