I have a cuisinart ice cream maker that needs a frozen bowl. Tried and returned Simac IL ice cream with built in compressor and from 2 other manufacturers who needed a freezer bowl. This cream is my favorite. I mean just 3.5 minutes including breather to get the frozen dessert as creamy as the Simac supercharged model which is good too but takes 40 minutes to start with cold liquid. All others, including the model with the built-in compressor, all give good results, but the ice always starts to melt when served. The creamy product always remains firm and creamy, does not melt after eating. Cleaning consists of washing the lid of the container with a blade, and half-eaten treats can be returned to the freezer. Ten seconds. There is no need to use a dishwasher. Cleaning other machines is more difficult. I find it easy to switch flavors in the freezer and apart from day one no problem with ice which is available on request. As a diabetic, I don't eat sugar and limit my fat intake. I use recipes from Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Cookbook. Eggs, Splenda, cocoa or shredded fruit, 2% milk, half and half skimmed, vanilla, etc. The included cookbook lists many ingredients I wouldn't use in making ice cream. I have to re-spin my frozen dessert every time, which I regularly do without opening the container, just sliding the bowl back and putting it back in place. Otherwise you get a powdery grain the first time, probably due to the very low fat content. I use the light ice mode. After the respin, the product is as creamy as I want it to be. So why not 5 stars. Other containers have not been available for several months. What's up with this ninja? With more containers, a world of flavors opens up. I should mention that I use this machine in an outbuilding where we have a freezer and an extra fridge so noise is not an issue. It's not as noisy as my vitamin, which sits in the kitchen and works 8 minutes on the soup cycle. I highly recommend this machine and don't be afraid to use your own ice cream recipe.
