Review on Bissell Powerfresh Pet Steam Purple by Joe Gilmartin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overall a great steamer

Use every other day on porcelain stoneware floors. It swims well but is very powerful even with minimal power. I use it on my old laminate floors but try to act quickly and not let the steam escape. When I first received it I damaged my new laminate in the living room. The edge of the board began to bubble and rise. And that was only once. So they are still made by hand. This works great in the bathroom and kitchen. I like how the head spins (see photo). However, this does not lead to a solution. I suppose you could steam out the grout and then come back with a grout brush and then a mop to remove the dirt. But I got the wrong impression when I read a review where a lady said it miraculously got rid of her 10 year old failed grout. Definitely won't happen! Also, you will most likely need additional spacers. I use two on each floor every time. Wash them with Oxyclean in hot water as they get very dirty. (See photo - surprisingly the bottom didn't look that bad to the naked eye.) They recommend using distilled water, but I use filtered tap water from my Waterlogic. It has a good LONG cord. It will stand on its own if you put the handle straight up, but it's not very strong. They have a thin plastic base that you can slide them into to keep them upright (see photo). Although I like it. My little dog had a bad reaction to Pinesol which we used to use to clean floors. This steamer is allergy free and looks just as good.
