This unit was the best way to capture video using the legacy (or HDMI) inputs and HDMI outputs. I've only used it once, but it recorded video from a camcorder to a flash drive. It was then easy to upload the file to a computer for processing, editing, etc. It was the easiest and best video capture I've tried lately. The capture itself does not require a connection to a computer as it is captured via a USB connection to a flash drive or other storage device. The quality of the video obviously depends on the original video, but in my case it's acceptable since the original videotape copied is over 30 years old! It worked, so I highly recommend this device.
