Good design and good production. The blade was sharp and the extra protection makes up for it. The shape of the wooden shell is flatter than the curve of the blade. This is good if you want to cut vegetables. The deeper bowl shape is better for chopping dried fruits and nuts. I've used it a few times and found that the wood top rotates on flat surfaces, indicating it wasn't milled flat. I don't know if that's intentional, but it's really convenient to cut from all sides. I am happy with this purchase.
