According to ht/wt my girlfriend is in the middle of the L size line but she can only get them to the top of her thigh. The size chart differs by at least one size. (Why age? There's no good reason for that.) Note: If you're downgrading to women's sizes, this size chart is also incorrect. My baby should be to the left of the female S, but they are even smaller than the baby L! This is a thick material that my child cannot tear or tear easily. Because they were so small that she couldn't. Don't let them comment on the stitching at the belt, but if you can feel it, it's surprisingly strong and thicker than a doner kebab. Maybe they need all that "generous" stitching to make sure things don't tear or snag/slip, but rip off.
