Proper size. I haven't experienced that. 10 to 10.5 is my shoe/boot size. A width is usually required and I bought it. For me, this boot is tight. I need almost 11 for this boot, but 11 would be too big. The most important thing is that this boot is narrow. It's not as wide as it is. Right now I have a spray bottle and I walk around the house in these boots spraying it every hour or so. Hopefully they will adapt and eventually fit my feet like moccasins. Actually I did that with the moccasins and where I got the idea from. The next trick is to add 50/50 alcohol to the water and do the same. I've been told it helps with stretching. I would have returned them if I hadn't ruined the Achilles tendon in my right leg. Ten weeks passed before the doctor allowed me to wear boots. So the box was thrown away and without the box I don't feel entitled to return it. To be honest they look great. I would have preferred the side zip as the lacing is showing its age. But I thought they had the best reviews.
