, I had some old outdoor candle holders - the kind that hang on either side of the door or next to the garage door. I didn't want to just throw them away because they were good. At the same time, we did a lot of work on our garden - really building it and making it look beautiful. In the evening we could really use a little more light. I did a little research and found these bulbs - they can be powered from a typical low voltage landscape lighting transformer! So I cleaned the sconces, installed them in our garden, connected landscape lighting wire to them (and landscape lighting wire is good because you can't guess which wire to connect and waited for the evening. Given the size of the bulb, I was afraid at first that they could be dimmer than a regular 120V LED bulb. But at night I went out into the garden - and my goodness these bulbs are as bright as the light on my doorstep! I love them. Didn't have to do anything else - they just worked time will tell how long they last but i have 6 of these so i have backups in case i need them.
