Don't buy it for makeup pencils
I bought it for eyeliner pencils and it chews on it then the 'lead' breaks before you get a good result so you waste a lot of pencil (I prefer pencils with a relatively thin tip). I've used pretty cheap pens though - maybe expensive ones work better, but I don't know. It was advertised as a makeup pencil, but I don't think anyone has ever tested the concept.
