One of the things I was taught in disaster preparedness courses was the importance of water. They can survive without food for some time, although they do get quite grumpy. Without water, however, life expectancy is three days. These collapsible water containers are very handy because you can store them anywhere and when you think something bad is going to happen, fill them up. It's better than trying to go to the market and finding there is no water there or looking for something to pour water on. I'll leave those who have used them to tell you how good or bad they are.
