later This is essential safety equipment when using a jigsaw or other outdoor power tool that throws chips and debris and has a decibel noise level in the damage area. Sexiest security system, no! If you want to look cool while cutting, get a Stihl Pro or Husqvarna system. However, if you want head, ear and face protection at a reasonable price for a weekend warrior like me, then this is the one for you. This is ANSI Type 1 approved Class C head protection, 22dB noise reduction, 6-point adjustable suspension system, removable sweatproof headgear and also comes with a clear polycarbonate screen and wire mesh screen for use with high speed cutting tools. The system fits over my 3M tinted goggles for an extra layer of protection (Stihl and husqvarna recommend using an extra pair of goggles under their system). The only drawback I see is the procurement of spare parts. I don't think that reason alone justifies buying a Stihl or any other brand at a much higher price. If I'm using this for more than an hour or two a week I might need something with readily available spares, but I don't see that as a problem. Others noted that they want to replace the sports band and can't find it easily. Solution: Get a small amount of headliner fabric from an upholstery supplier, use the sports tape you have as a template, and cut out a new one. This should work: I did this when I couldn't find a replacement strap for my bike helmet and it worked better than the originals. Summary: If you need a professional-quality, everyday protection system, check out the Stihl and Husqvarna systems. etc. However, if you're a weekend warrior like me, grab this system and get to work!
