I find that I prefer wash caps to shower caps because they are cleaner to use and can be thrown away after each use. I don't like that regular shower caps get dirty and can't be washed properly. Especially chewing gum, which can smell and mold. bacteria city! As long as you recycle your plastic, there's no reason to feel guilty about receiving it. I also like their versatility. I can use it in the bath/shower while the deep conditioner and hair conditioner doesn't stick to my neck and shoulders which in some cases causes breakouts and the product stays in your hair instead of on your body or in the water. Extending your hair for another day saves a lot of time some days and can save a life. Obviously they are necessary for any dyeing process, so they are versatile, clean and very cheap. They don't smell like chemicals or industrial plastic, so I'm happy.
