When we moved into our old house we were put off by the musty smell in the closets. Even after leaving the doors and windows open and trying to air the room, turning on the air purifiers and steaming the carpets, mopping the hardwood floors and checking for mildew, we couldn't completely get rid of the abandoned library smell. hopeful and were pleasantly surprised at how much water they collected in the first week and how quickly the smell started to improve. The first month the pockets were full and needed replacing, but the cabinets smelled like new. I keep buying them because I haven't yet discovered the source of that extra smelly moisture, but they do their job well.
