Review on πŸ“Έ Datacolor SpyderX Pro SXP100 – Advanced Monitor Calibration for Professional Photographers and Designers by Nick Kirschenmann

Inaccurate software, gross "calibrator "

I used SpyderX pro on my Lenovo P50 laptop with B156HAN04.5 display. bit awkward. Also note that as of February 2019, SpyderX is NOT compatible with open source calibration packages such as DisplayCal. I made 4 calibration attempts: The first attempt is too warm. The second attempt is too cold. Third try, recalibration, second calibration, others slightly better but still too cold. The fourth attempt included brightness settings, low, medium and high ICM files. My panel was tested with a laptop and an icm AUO45ED profile made with a Xrite spectrometer. The Notebookcheck Generic Profile completely kills all SpyderX attempts. The Nortenlight test also shows an image of two monitors matched with SpyderX, they look completely different, like day and night. From here my only conclusion is either a new washing machine or the software is too fast and completely inaccurate. Unfortunately, since SpyderX doesn't support DispayCal, which is slower and more accurate? I cannot recommend SpyderX at all. After "calibration" everything looks much worse. I've been considering x-rite or SpyderX since I bought outdated Lacie Blye Eyes that even modern panels couldn't calibrate. I really regret buying SpyderX. If you're in a similar boat, just choose x-rite.
