Easy to put on and take off. It's easy to spot. If your dog sheds a lot, you may need to comb the Velcro from time to time to keep the closure secure. Although the instructions state not to tumble dry the wool, we occasionally dry the wool on the "lint" setting to remove excess fur (shedding occurs!). While not fully waterproof, it is fairly water resistant. Once wet we wipe it dry and it dries quickly. This coat is also longer than most, so it covers most of the back on large dogs. Very happy with this product
