I was looking for low profile (about 3" with grille) inexpensive speakers for office background music and recorded meetings. It was what I needed and that's why I am happy. I just lean the speakers against the back of my desk. Sounds great on "folk music", straight acoustic guitar (very good) and freshly recorded voice (very good); It's not what you see rock music with a higher pitched I want to play louder than the low levels.I use it with a small (15w) Pylepro PCA1 amp and use the EQ in my MP3 player to boost the bass a bit.I could bring a Pylepro PCA2 which has a bass - and treble controls, and that would help the sound.
