Great Platform Pedals

First of all, these pedals offer great quality at an affordable price - for a name brand pedal you can get a composite body at this price or pay double for an alloy. Bearings spin smoothly, the one-piece aluminum body provides a large, rigid platform, and small, replaceable metal pins provide exceptional support. I don't have the scale to match, but they seem to be a bit lighter than the SHIMANO XT PD-M8020 pedals I replaced, which is impressive considering the size of the platform. These are the first platform pedals I tried on my mountain. Bike since I switched to clip on pedals over 20 years ago. After an initial 12-mile trek (in Vasque walking shoes as I don't have cycling flats yet) I decided to let her on the bike for a while; However, I'm still not sure if platform pedals are for me. I love how easily my feet land on the pedals in every situation and I don't have to find an ideal spot to engage the spike - I can push myself to the max as soon as my food hits the pedal and don't notice a downside. Power not to be cut off to hit. The grip is so strong that I didn't miss the opportunity to "tie" myself to the mount and appreciate the ease with which you can let go of the pedal. On the other hand, this grip means your foot stays where it lands, whether or not it is the ideal position - with clamps, once your position is dialed in, you know your foot is in the ideal position as soon as it locks into place . Also, I miss an opportunity to slightly rotate my healing (float in clip) without taking my foot off the pedal. If I stay with the platforms, I see that I will enjoy it for a long time.

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging
