Like many others, I struggled to navigate the software. I tried three of my Surface Pro 2017 models (Windows 10 Pro). Everything worked except the software Tech 2. CANDI not connected. Whatever I try When starting Tech2, the pop-up window for selecting the connection to MDI did not appear. I've looked everywhere for USB drivers but to no avail. After playing around with it for a few days (frustrated) I got it working with another laptop running Windows 10 Pro. I think the problem is that the surface pro uses a USB 3.0 port and the other laptop has a 2.0 port. So if you only have port 3.0 you might run into problems. A possible workaround would be a USB port splitter that supports USB 2.0. I didn't try it because I didn't have it on hand. The winning combo for me was: 1. USB 2.0 port on PC2. Windows 10 Pro3. The latest version of VX Manager from their website seems to be 1.6xxx4. Latest downloads for GD2 folder and Tech 2 folder from their website5. Didn't use anything from the CD in the Box6. When installing Vx Manager I checked the boxes for Pass-Through and GD2/Tech2Win and SPS.7. All three programs will be installed. Connect the module to the PC (no need to connect to the car)9. Start VX Manager and the module should appear. Update the firmware on the module itself.10. Click on the Vehicles tab on the left and make sure Passthrough and GD2/Tech2 (and SPS if required) have green ticks. If not, double click to open and install/update as needed.11. Leave VX Manager running - minimize it if you like.12. Double-click the desktop shortcut to launch Tech2Win13. Select North America14. Choose MDI interface, not MDI215. In the next dialog box, select the only option you can choose from.16. Tech2 should work. The splash screen at startup shows the connected CANDI unit. Reason for three stars? 1. No support from seller, tried to send email with no reply2. They have outdated installation videos - others are in Chinese and none of them make sense.3. When I buy something like that, I assume half the price is software. If it doesn't work right out of the box, I won't get what I paid for.4. How long will it take for the seller to create an updated video with download links for the latest pack in a folder to make things easier? How about pointing out the lack of USB 3.0 support? Sheer laziness annoys me. After a few long days, yes it works. But man, they make you jump through hoops to get there.
