This lamp is better than I expected. I thought 7-8 inches was pretty small but in reality and 3D that's quite a lot! The size is comparable to my salt lamp. I like the LED lamp inside. It's energy efficient and along with a dimmer there's a pretty wide range of light output options. I am very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it! Packaging was basic but could be given as a gift IF Amazon put it in a shipping box. But they just labeled the whole lamp themselves and shipped it in their own box. I was afraid of breakage, but everything was fine. It's just that the packaging makes it very awkward to wrap as a gift for someone. So I would select "Gift Wrapping" when checking if I'm buying this for someone else so they are forced to put the item in a gift bag and wrap it. It costs an additional $3.
