I chose Olympian Labs Beef Protein Powder (Chocolate) because I had previously used Musclemeds Carnivor (Chocolate), which is also a beef-derived protein. When I could no longer afford the high price of Musclemeds for a two pound can, I switched to cheaper whey/soy protein powders. Then there was Olympian Labs, a pound for less. So this time I decided to do it. Here's what I can say: 1) Olympian Labs and Musclemed's beef powder taste weird (cardboard? metallic?). Doesn't match the taste. I think this is precisely because the source is beef. I add flavored coffee creamer to mask the taste. 2) Olympian Labs and Musclemeds beef powder does not completely dissolve when using a whisk in a shaker. Again, I think it has to do with the origin of the beef. There are residual lumps. You may have better luck with a high-speed electric blender. Switch from beef to dairy/soy and then back to beef - I think beef is healthier but other than that I don't really see a difference in terms of muscle benefits. So it's a personal choice for everyone. As for me, I'll go back to dairy/soy proteins after I've finished a can of Olympian Labs.
