Review on Charles River Apparel Englander Waterproof Women's Clothing in Coats, Jackets & Vests by Nancy Willink

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is the worst jacket.

I'm 1.70 m tall, size 14/16, long arms and hips 124 cm. SIZE: I chose to follow the sizing chart to be able to close the bottom of the jacket around my hips and 2XL did. STYLE: The inner lining of the jacket is smaller than the outer fabric, which creates a very baggy look due to trapped air. The outer fabric does not stick to the lining. The arms are pretty long. The zipper is plastic and awful. I've tried to zip 3 times in a row and got stuck trying to zip up. The adjustable hem is a joke and isn't in a place where both hem sizes could be tightened (i.e. pinch both sides of the cord). This means that either the back of the jacket fits snugly against the buttocks, or the front (uncomfortably). FABRIC: If you're happy to carry a mile-thick crumpled waterproof plastic bag, this is the ticket. I'm surprised at how THIN and fragile the fabric feels, meaning an armpit tear will grab something. Untenable. GENERAL: Absolutely the worst jacket I've ever seen. I don't understand why there are so many rave reviews! The fabric feels thin and flimsy, doesn't lie flat next to the lining. The zipper and adjustable hem are a breeze. The positive side is the size and length of the arm. Returned.
