A heater has never killed a fish.

Great heater. Maintains a constant and accurate temperature. Be warned this heater just killed one of my fish. I never thought it was possible, but somehow one of my adult Serpae tetras found its way *into* the heater's plastic casing. And since the holes on the sides are smaller than the front/back, then it got stuck. I think he was there all night and when I found him with his head in the grill his tail fin was completely damaged and I think there was a burn mark on the side of contact with the heating element. Most of the time I cooked myself. I was able to disconnect and slide the heater cover back in, but it died after 24 hours. Not *really* a heater fault, just a weird accident, but if the side holes were the same size as the front holes it could squeeze back and not get stuck touching the heater element. Just a word of caution. Update 18 months later. Killed another. Another Serpae Tetra got stuck face to face this time and died. Getting the remains of his body out of the tank was horrifying. I think fish like to sleep in the corner of the tank where the heater is and they get stuck trying to find cover. Or maybe I just have a stupid fish. The heating still works well, it just feels like it deserves attention.
