Review on Daystar Universal Polyurethane Isolator KU71104BK by James Lesley

Ignore the low reviews, these hood bolt kits are everything they are meant to be and work well. Buy two!

To be honest I have no idea what others have had issues with after reading negative reviews and buying based on positive reviews on other websites. The description makes it very clear that this is a kit that contains all the parts needed for ONE bonnet pin. Two sets are comparable or cheaper than most competitors, there are no additional shipping costs and they are made in the USA. If you damage one you can replace it without buying two, I find it useful. Other complaints include having to buy a hole saw. Unless you have a really thick fiberglass hood, which would be odd, you should use a stepped nozzle for this setup. Now priced at $18.99 from Harbor Freight for a set of 1 3/8" step drill bits, they are quite up to the task of drilling a 1 1/4" diameter hole in burr free sheet metal. I promise you will find dozens of other uses for it later. They're made of fiberglass, which snaps when pushed open, so the soft polyethylene will warp if you overtighten. The benefit of having a steel hood is that you can get the pins really tight into the stands and they don't rattle. They're really well made and include everything you need to complete the installation. I added washers to the hood bolts to keep the nuts from deforming the metal of the radiator shroud I attached them to, but in most cases the nuts are welded in place so this is an unnecessary extra expense. Have fun drilling big holes in the hood!
