Review on Twin Waterproof Mattress Protector and Cover by DMI - Encased Zippered Fit by Rose Sanchez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better than I expected from a plastic style mattress topper.

Received it today - it was easy to slip it over the mattress (although I think if you have a mattress larger than a twin mattress you might need two people to do this.) And it had a bit of an odor when it came out of the box from the vinyl ie not a bad smell just a strong plastic/vinyl smell. But after a few hours I don't smell it anymore, so it's not a problem. And what I like best is that most of the plastic mattress toppers I've had to sleep on (like in college, at summer camps as a kid, and the like) made a lot of noise when moving. It was so obvious that you were lying on a layer of plastic and it was very annoying and uncomfortable. This one, despite being made entirely of vinyl with no fabric, isn't very loud. I mean it makes more noise than cloth when moving, but it's nowhere near as bad as any of the others I've seen. So I was excited. This is for my toddler's bed, mainly in case something spills on the mattress (thankfully it's not actually wet, even at 1 1/2) and because it was a handmade mattress. It smells a bit from storage so I wanted something to completely seal the mattress. And I am very happy with this purchase, especially for the price. I could buy trendy cotton/bamboo/etc. not afford. One and I was expecting terrible quality for a $14 plastic case but this far exceeded my expectations so I'm very happy with it.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No paint required
