What can I say - it works as it should.

First time I used this was to unscrew the ball joint on my GV, I didn't think it would work - I removed the nut, turned it around and replaced it, to protect the threads, tool in and tightened, joint wouldn't budge - my wife came out and called me to lunch, so I left it, all twisted, and during lunch we heard a "pop" in the driveway " - the hinge jumped out. I've used it a few times since, tie rod ends, ball joint, pretty much anything that has a cone - install a tool, tighten, then bang on the

Good replacement for pickle forks and sledgehammers

Nice little tool and a great way to remove ball or tie rod studs from knuckles. Reading a lot of reviews, I think a lot of people don't really know how to use such a tool in a better and safer way. Two remarks must be made. First, when using this tool, do not remove the stud nut completely, just back it off a few turns if you can, still holding the tool on the end of the stud. Second, get the tool up to a good torque level and then hit the bolt hard on the hinge with a hammer, which should…

Very well built reliable tool for the money

This item is amazing. I've used it countless times and really can't imagine my life without it. If you're doing suspension work, you should also have these essentials. This makes it easier to separate the ball joints. I once had trouble removing the lower ball joint on a Honda Accord using this tool. This thing is incredibly stuck there. I hit this tool really hard with my air gun and although I was very scared the tool would explode from the intense pressure in my face, it held up well. I…

Went like clockwork!

Wow, great tool! I had to replace the driveshaft on my wife's '06 Odyssey. During this work, among other work, the lower ball joint had to be detached from the steering knuckle. I greased the "cup" part of the tool and the threads and it slipped right between the boot and forearm. I screwed the castle nut upside down to protect the stem threads. The finger portion of the tool rested directly on the top of the shank. A few minutes of puffs and bangs! the ball joint was released without damaging…

Great tool and customer service, DO NOT USE A SOUND GUN with this tool

I used this tool to remove and replace some stuck lower ball joints on an old Toyota pickup. The ball joints were stubborn enough that just tightening the tool to loosen them was not enough. What worked for me was using a heavy aluminum mallet to hit the control lever where the BJ sits with the tool tightened and it was enough to get those old BJs off. Without this wonderful tool I don't know how I would get them out. It is important to note that you should NOT use a percussion gun with this…

Saved me hours of frustration!

Let me start by saying that with many purchases over the 3-4 years since I created my Amazon account, this is the only review I have ever written. The reason is that this tool works very well! It's a versatile tool so it might not be perfect for your application, but it worked wonders on my Mazda 6 2.3 05! I've spent the last week trying every method I can think of! Hammer, pickle fork, gear puller, propane torch, penetrating oil and even my BFH. Nothing, I mean nothing caused the ball joint to

Bad design, bad materials

Compared to models of this type and price and the one I got with this work, this thing seems small and looks kinda bad on the seams and similar sides sewn out but The main screw may seem sturdy but in reality the screw isn't as beefy as it should be given how much force this thing has to expend for its purpose, not to mention that the end of the screw that holds the spacer touched, shiny chrome, fixed, almost a ball bearing? So there's never direct contact and pressure because if the smooth…
