I was skeptical about buying this online without being able to inspect it in person first but it turned out to be a great purchase. Everything is well done. The backpack has padded straps - not very thick padding, but more than enough for our second grader. Good size lunch box. We can put a lot of food in it, as well as a mini water bottle and a flat square ice pack. We pack lunch for school the night before and keep it in the fridge overnight. Even at the end of the school day, what's left in the lunch bag is still very cold!
