This purchase was a mistake. I was so nervous about getting the duvet cover but as soon as I took it out of the box I realized I had to heed the reviews I had read about the shedding and linting. You didn't exaggerate. This is a beautiful duvet cover made from thick (a little rough) material with quality buttons and strong internal drawstrings to keep the duvet in place. However, these positive qualities are outweighed by a significant disadvantage - molting! This is way worse than I could have imagined. As soon as I took it out of the box the threads fell to the floor and I noticed that many of the threads making up the pattern were partially torn from the cotton cover making the whole thing look dirty and worn. I tried washing according to the instructions on the cover. This only worsened detachment and also made the material more spiky. Not only did the lint cover the entire floor and furniture, but the threads curled and collected on the underside/smooth side of the cover. Fluff and fluff were everywhere! I tried using a lint roller on the back/smooth side of the duvet cover but it was useless. It's like polling almost every square inch of the subject. I spent most of my evening cleaning up the mess. Needless to say, I am returning this item.
