This scanner does exactly what it says, scan documents to PDF. It comes with Adobe Acrobat Standard 6 - the full version as far as I can tell. We use it in accounting to scan our paperless document vault and it does the job perfectly. It has everything we need, scanning to PDF, USB2 (no cards installed) and Acrobat STD for document management, and at a good price. It's also a two-sided scanner - both sides in one go. The scanner interface software (proprietary, non-TWAIN) has automatic blank page detection, so we just leave the duplex option enabled all the time. Rollers and grippers can be replaced after 1 year or 100,000 pages as indicated in the manual. I had it not long ago but nothing has taken hold yet. It has a small size so it can easily fit on the table without taking up much space. Don't expect this scanner to do everything for everyone. It has scan settings for black and white and full color scans and only a few resolution options (their terms are: fastest, best, best). So if you're scanning in 8-bit grayscale at an odd resolution and want to scan to something other than JPG or PDF, this isn't for you. Read the online manual and make sure it does what you need. If you are a business looking to scan documents to PDF and you need a fast and affordable duplex scanner, this is what you need.
