When fitting a tire the spoon wants to dig into the tire until the curve of the spoon meets the rim. This will insert the tip of the spinner quite deep into the rim and risk pinching the tube (if you have one). I pierced and patched my pipe several times trying to use these spoons until realizing the problem. I cut off a half inch from the end of the spoon, sanded everything smooth and was able to mount the tires easily. Admittedly, this was my first motorcycle tire change, but I think design played a role in my problems. Hope this helps someone else. The irons were of good quality material but I would look for something different when changing tubulars.
