Review on ๐Ÿงต Beadsmith Metal Bead Loom Kit with Thread, Needles, and 18g Glass Beads - Ideal for Bracelets, Necklaces, Belts, and More! by Jennifer Roberts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pros and cons, totally satisfied.

As a beginner to beadwork, I thought it would be interesting to take one of these and try a few projects. The set includes beading needles (very small, with tiny eyelets), thread (actually quite decent quality) and a set of beads. I wouldn't recommend using the beads that came with the kit unless you have extra beads and aren't bothered by the mismatch. I've made a few bracelets here before, and here's what I think: get ready to bend that sucker. Anyway, you really don't have much room from one end of the loom to the other. My first project was about 5 inches long before I ran out of space. (That includes being so close to the end that it actually tore the project apart a bit.) If you're like me and have a larger wrist, this just won't work. I bent the metal outward on both sides as evenly as possible and was able to add about 3 inches to my designs. I could probably make a little more out of it, but I'm holding back for now. This makes the loom sit a lot higher, but I found it helped bring the work closer to my face, allowing me to sit more upright and not put as much strain on my back. He wobbles and moves. Even before I bent it myself, the loom was not lying flat on the table. One corner is always slightly higher than the other 3. It's not a terrible problem, but it's there. Even if you don't have a non-slip surface to use this, it will move. I work on wooden tables with no mat or fabric underneath, so I initially had trouble with the loom as it cycled around my workspace. You might get used to it after a while, but you might want to put a non-slip pad underneath. Wooden dowels hold up very well. I was afraid they would loosen or twist as the frame flexed, but that didn't happen. As long as you protect them as they should be, you shouldn't have any problems. It does what it's supposed to do. There is no fancy way to string your basics. You will have a number of threads to deal with after you have cut your piece. There is practically no information on the use of the loom. (I recommend the YouTube video.) This is an easy entry-level loom for those who want to try it. before going all-in with the freaky.
