It took me about 2 weeks to find the steps I wanted for my small dogs. I needed steps that would not prevent my dogs from getting to my bed without having to jump. These steps are great! I took lots of measurements as many of the steps for sale are tall but are actually quite short. The bed with mattress and spring is quite high. They have a slight forward incline, making the steps very easy to use. I have a 16 year old Chihuahua who RUNS up the stairs to fall asleep faster. Carpet is definitely a good thing on these stairs, although I think a rubber underlay would be better. Sometimes I'm afraid they'll slip, they run so fast. The steps were pretty easy to put together like a giant jigsaw puzzle but make sure you double check all the pieces before putting them together because if you get it wrong they will be hard to take apart. These steps aren't strong enough for kids, so keep that in mind. Overall they are amazing and worth their price.
