Review on G-STORY Portable FreeSync Speakers Nintendo 15.6" 165Hz Ultrawide Screen with Wall Mount & Flicker-Free Technology, 1920x1080p Display - GST56 by Arctorius Ransom

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Just make sure you're giving enough juice to play per second or when using the speaker.

So far I've tried it with CS:GO and Valorant and I'm very happy with the image quality, refresh rate and response time. I immediately felt the difference in responsiveness. I didn't expect to like it so much. I'm even considering making it the default monitor. I like the smaller size, the really good image quality and of course the higher refresh rate! Start this on sale and it will offer the best value for money, at least for PC gaming. Will be updated for console. UPDATE: Unfortunately I am deducting a star for now due to my monitor turning off while playing or I have it in speaker mode. (I had headphones plugged in for the last review). I plugged them into the same USB-C port on my PC. I even plugged a second USB-C into USB A to get some extra power, but it still randomly turned off. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I will try other cords for the outlet and troubleshoot later today. The situation is updated. It's also very difficult to use USB-C when connected to a phone. So far it has only worked on my Note 9 after a few tries and once connected it doesn't fill the entire screen. When I try to bring up the menu with the remote to find a solution, the monitor turns off immediately, but when I try to bring up the menu with the switch on the monitor, it stays on. Maybe my monitor is defective? Anyway, I basically wanted it to be an extra monitor for my computer, so it doesn't bother me much, but if you're thinking of plugging in your phone and making it work, it's going to cause some glitches. BUT in general I like it when it works. I tried the HDR settings on a PC and while I don't have much experience to compare them other than what I've seen in Youtube reviews, it was a welcome addition to my enthusiasm for this portable monitor. This made the Cold War visuals livelier in campaign mode. UPDATE #2: I tried the included USB-C to 2x USB-A and plugged it directly into my power strip but it didn't turn off. I tried to recreate the original problem and it worked beautifully. I also tried using it on my laptop with just a USB-C to USB-C cable and it turned on and sent a signal to the screen! But again he passed out mid-game. So I think it's best to always have extra power when playing video games. If you just surf the web and YouTube, you can get by with a single USB-C cable. Speaking of YouTube, the video on this screen looks really good too. Update #3: Today the monitor worked without any problems. In the morning, when the monitor cooled down, it turned off a couple of times. But once it warmed up (literally warm to the touch near the HDMI and USB-C inputs), it never turned off. Also this configuration is connected via USB-C to x2 USB-A in my extension cable. I tested it on a laptop and was able to charge it from a 2A power bank and connect it to the laptop via USB-C. Also, after warming up, the screen stayed on throughout the gaming session with no issues. This setup consists of USB-C to USB-C and a power adapter to power the monitor. Last update and conclusion: after working with it and understanding it better. I love it! There is room for improvement in USB-C capabilities with a cellphone (difficult to pair) and power outages during gaming sessions (mostly user error by using the wrong USB-C ports and not using the correct adapter to deploy). enough power during those intense sessions) easily attaches with a plug-in adapter for more power-intensive applications. Perhaps a color indicator that includes the USB-C power port rather than the data port (constantly confused about which connector to use for power) will likely help people enjoy it more right away. If you just want to use it as an extra portable monitor for your laptop/PC, this is perfect! Just make sure you set it up correctly. And what a plus! The magnetic cover can attach and hold the monitor to my Nr200p case, making it a good monitor to save desk space with a high refresh rate!

Pros
  • A very bright picture.
Cons
  • The monitor is great and looks good. But every time I use it I have to increase the brightness.
