First of all it doesn’t have a dust cover which is a huge problem for a turntable which are typically a dust magnet as the vinyl generates static because it’s turning and will attract every particle of dust in the room.I think one of the problems is the speaker is underneath the turntable and turntables are supposed to be isolated from vibration. So the turntable is sitting on top of a huge vibrating speaker. And this creates a problem with harmonics.Even when I run the line out to a very nice and established sound system, with dedicated phono inputs ( A vintage B&K preamp ) it just sounds average. I don’t think the cartridge is very high-quality. I’m looking to see if I can exchange the cartridge and the needle to see if I can get some better sound from this.Well I appreciate the vintage look, the lack of a dust cover is pretty much a dealbreaker.
