I've tried several models of this style of weightlifting shoe on flat, almost barefoot - and particularly steep - shoes and it's a cut better than any other I've tried. and they were all promptly returned. They have a very light and flexible rubber sole with a very stretchy and breathable mesh upper. This means there are no weird pressure points anywhere like there is with every mismatched analogue I've ever tried on. They are fantastic - comfort, fit, breathability, all A+ as far as I know. I can't vouch for their running durability because I don't run; I just don't like the feel of a heavy shoe when climbing. I would only work out in team socks if I could do it in a public gym. I'm guessing they could last a few months at most on a rigorous running regimen. On the other hand, a pair of Merrells sneakers worth around $75 is unlikely to make you better than this one. I can see that the fusion of the sock with the mesh upper is somewhat lacking, which shouldn't be a problem since, as mentioned, there's a nice fit here with plenty of flex to eliminate stress points around the outsole edge. that wears out the shoes. Almost all sneakers and sneakers have historically been cut to a level of idiocy that I don't understand, especially Nike, so the introduction of minimalist zero-drop shoes in recent years is a good thing. meant "last", I assume, but serves a purpose. The important thing is that you get the right size. For example I wanted to wear them in black with regular black short socks with a slight thickness so I chose size 12.5 which is my upper size. It has a great fit and feel compared to the Converse I've worn to lift - the Converse have really fallen apart over time and yet they remain around $60. But ANYWHERE if I were to buy another pair this summer to wear with invisible nylon socks I would probably cut the size in half to a 12 to prevent heel slippage (I have a slightly shorter right foot). The inclusion of half sizes is another sign of a great footwear product. An added bonus is the fact that they are very easy to put on and take off. I don't see any downsides here. As a leg sweater and a general dislike for weight on feet and wide feet these shoes were a great find.
