THE BEST UV FILTERS DON'T COST MUCH MORE THAN THE CHEAPEST

I'm a big fan of B+W Clear UV Haze filters. I order a filter with every new lens I buy and put the filter on before the lens is mounted on the camera for the first time. It kept my photos and lenses pristine. I tried comparing AB with and without a filter to see if it degrades the quality of the photos from my Canon 5D MkIII. If anything, photos look better with a black and white filter (probably due to UV spectrum elimination). Everything about these black and white filters exudes quality, the threads are clean and precise, the fit is always superb, and the optics are at their finest. Preferably. They're not much more expensive than cheap Tiffen UV Haze filters, so I never think about buying black and white filters. That's the case when the best isn't much more expensive, my photos are worth it! Everyone!

Cons
  • Not as thick as other filters
