Phenomenal quality at such a good price. The case has loops and foam rubber that have cut outs for each part of the kit. The case has front latches to close and secure the case. I wish it had some sort of slide lock to be more secure. Each piece of the set comes in a plastic bag, and each piece, except the rule, has an oil coating to prevent rust. My son brought the tools home from work to test the accuracy of all the components in this kit. He was amazed to see that every combination square placement was absolutely accurate. He was amazed at the low price I paid for an instrument of this quality. Now I can throw away all my cheap combination squares. It's definitely well laid out.
