I hate modern packaging that is almost impossible to open. But if it lowers the price, I'm willing to fight it. I haven't seen how to attach the straps, but if you take the little black piece and tuck it into the end where it fits, you can slide the small lanyard loop down from the top of the transmitter and around the top that curves up slightly slide the transmitter. Difficult to describe, but easy to do, and it's an extremely intelligent piece of engineering. The sound of the ding-dong suited me and could be heard well on both the ground floor and the upper floor. Overall this is a clear 5 star product.
