Review on The Beadsmith Bent Chain-Nose Pliers: Optimal Crafting and Repair Tool for Jewelry Making by Tara Ford

goes well with pliers from the same line

I bought round nose pliers and these. They are very similar tools except for the shape of the spouts and they are from the same manufacturer, about the same size and quality so reviews will be similar. I decided that I wanted to start making chain mail. . I'm not sure what metal I'll end up with (I only play with copper now as I have plenty of it and it's cheap) so I wanted separate pliers that I could just dip into Tool Magic in the event of. Over time I start working with anodized or enameled metals. (I also have a couple of round nose pliers from the same brand.) They haven't broken the bank and I can always use them for my other jewelry making applications when I don't like the chain hammer (although I can find it now). Pretty funny) Anyway, as I said, I used plain bare copper (while waiting for my Tool Magic). He has a tough personality, but I manage to bend and close the adapter rings using them in my left hand (I use the pliers in my right hand). I think they work for me because they are relatively small. I have small hands and can hold them well which makes it easier to handle the metal I'm working with. They're smooth, but they have edges, and I've damaged the surface of some jump rings when I got the hang of using them. It doesn't bother me too much as I'm practicing braiding and have an order for a protective coating to prevent this problem in the future. maybe niobium or aluminum. I don't think using it on hardened steel would work very well. I would also stick to using them for jewelry and not putting them in a general household tool kit. Anyway, I was looking for cheap pliers to try a new craft and I got that with them.

Pros
  • EASY & SMOOTH: These pliers are equipped with a double leaf spring to prevent hand fatigue and cramps.
Cons
  • Big and clumsy
