I had to order this because my heater suddenly went out. I like heaters with lids. I love it when my fresh water tank is 79 degrees and for some reason this heater can't keep it up. I have attached photos. The product description states that it is accurate to within ONE degree; No, that is not so! I first set it to 78 degrees and it said it was 81! That's 3 degrees more! And my other thermometer showed 82.8 degrees! Only boiled fish! So I set it to 77 degrees. His thermometer read 79 and my other thermometer read 82! After a few days I finally got close to what I wanted - I set it to 78, his thermometer reads 78, my thermometer reads 79.2. If you buy this heater I strongly recommend that you have an extra thermometer in the tank to read the water temperature.
