Review on ๐Ÿ”’ Secure Your Belongings with ONGUARD Akita Loop Cable Lock! by Rick Turner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works with my standard Kryptonite NY 16mm U-lock. Big loop through small loop.

This is a good strong cable that will work with padlocks but you will need to put the large loop through the small loop. This is a strong cable and it is actually braided (not twisted). It is long enough to secure a seat with a U-lock or a helmet with a U-lock. It's probably too small to try to fit a seat and helmet to a U-lock, or a wheel and helmet to a U-lock. With the longer and more expensive Kryptoflex cable, I can lock the front wheel --> go through the helmet --> and then lock on the U-lock, but that's not possible with the Onguard Akita cable. I have attached a comparison picture to show the length between cheap Ebay thin cable, Kryptoflex cable and Akita On-Guard cable. If you want to tie multiple items to your padlock, use the Kryptoflex cable. If you're just attaching a helmet or seat to your U-lock and want to save a few bucks, use Akita's On-Guard cable. If you need a short cable and just want to secure your seat to your bike frame or rear bike rack (less secure than a U-lock, but more like "set and forget"), use On-Guard. Akita cable as shorter cable is preferred. This is how I use the Akita On-Guard cable. One loop around the seat, a few loops around the seatpost and attached to Topeak's C-pillar extensions (I taped the bb to the extension's hex bolt so a thief with the hex wrench would have a little trouble). A good cable that I would recommend but I know its purpose and limitations. Some people may prefer a shorter cable like this cable over longer cables.
