Review on Docking Station Ethernet CharJenPro Ultimate by Chris Estes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great little all in one, love it

Have been using it for a few weeks now with no problems. Works great on my MacBook Pro (15" 2017), even works on macOS Monterey! (also works on Windows 10, I used it when rebooting into Windows via Bootcamp) I didn't need all the ports, but it's nice to have them closed if I need it one day. Basically, I only use the Ethernet ports, SD card reader, USB PD and USB-A. It's great that you finally no longer need a separate adapter for Ethernet. It was 1.4 cm ( 14mm) thinner than I expected as hubs usually feel quite bulky with an ethernet adapter, but this one didn't feel that way. The 3.5mm jack is listed on the Mac as the USB Audio Device "KTMICR -Device-01" shows up and sounds clean with my Sennheiser HD 6XX, no audible hiss or anything, just pure sound. No ethernet issues, no drivers. or whatever on my Mac, just plugged it in and it ran fine Gigabit speed (full duplex 1000baseT) It seems to use the Realtek R8153 chipset, for those who are curious.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
