Expensive Junk on Docks

I bought this for my new iPad Air 4 for two main reasons. The first is for the headphone jack, the second is for HDMI streaming. Both failed miserably. Constant crashes when streaming via HDMI, the headphone jack is extremely buggy. Most of my headphones don't even work with it, and a pair fails every two minutes. Another big problem is trying to charge the device while it's connected to the Ethernet. The iPad freezes after 10 seconds and needs to be restarted. All in all a big failure. I get…

Great portable docking station with all ports

This is a great device for those looking to use older hardware with their MacBook family. While we've moved away from the uniqueness of the new Mac ports, the reality is that there's still a lot of hardware, including recently released products, waiting for legacy USB and other ports. Small enough to throw in your travel bag, the device can carry your power so it might be the only thing you need to plug in at the office or at home. Whenever wired ethernet is available, I prefer to just use it…

Multitasking Users - Consider USB-C Dock

This USB-C dock is a little ahead of my devices to emphasize. If you watch the video, I'm importing pictures from my iPhone into my photo library on an attached SSD while playing Rogue One from a micro SD card. I'm using a 2020 MacBook Air M1 base model (8GB RAM, 7 GPU cores), BigSur 11.3.1. I've also included a screenshot of the card that came in the box. I am currently using an AUKEY Omnia 100W PD 4 port charger. I have a MacBook Air and an iPad Pro 11 inch 2020 connected to the USB-C…

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Works great with M1 Mac mini

I need more USB ports. The M1 mini/air just doesn't have enough, and as I use a few different card readers, a Logitech mouse USB dongle, an external SSD etc, it sometimes gets too crowded to even use 2 at a time. The Charjen Pro Station changes that! I no longer need multiple card readers or worry about the distance between USB ports. The built-in card reader reads and writes a bit faster than my USB devices, nice surprise! The HDMI port handles 4k60 and 1080p144 without hiccups. The device…

  • Delivery was very fast

  • The list will be long.

Great little all in one, love it

Have been using it for a few weeks now with no problems. Works great on my MacBook Pro (15" 2017), even works on macOS Monterey! (also works on Windows 10, I used it when rebooting into Windows via Bootcamp) I didn't need all the ports, but it's nice to have them closed if I need it one day. Basically, I only use the Ethernet ports, SD card reader, USB PD and USB-A. It's great that you finally no longer need a separate adapter for Ethernet. It was 1.4 cm ( 14mm) thinner than I expected as hubs…

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

A great hub for power users and those looking to the future

After my 2012 MacBook Pro, I needed a lot of hubs and adapters when I upgraded to a new USB-C only MacBook Pro. I initially settled on a CharJen side mount hub which I was very happy with, so when I was looking for an additional Ethernet enabled hub I settled on the brand. At the moment it's absolute overkill for my needs, but I figured it would be better to go with a hub that seems to have all the specs to keep it safe for the future. While I don't currently have any devices to fully test the…

  • Looking forward to it

Compact and lightweight, everything you need in one device

I bought the CharJen Ultimate Dock USB-C Gen 2 because my latest USB-C hub was "borrowed" from a student. Having used this at home and work I am happy with the upgrade. I carry my 16-inch MacBook Pro in a shoulder bag to and from work every day. Weight and bulkiness are important to me, especially when I'm cycling home. The CharJen USB docking station matches the space gray hue of my laptop perfectly, but it's made of durable plastic and doesn't get hot, even when I'm charging my device at…

  • Big and bulky
