The M1 mini/air just doesn't have enough, and as I use a few different card readers, a Logitech mouse USB dongle, an external SSD etc, it sometimes gets too crowded to even use 2 at a time. Have been using it for a few weeks now with no problems. Works great on my MacBook Pro (15" 2017), even works on macOS Monterey!
