Years ago I used a different type of banana plug but the cable kept popping out so I gave up and only used bare speaker wire for over 10 years. Looking for an update I saw that these connectors have two screws holding the wire in the gold plated connector and I decided to give them a try. I recently upgraded a 5.1 receiver to a 9.2 DENON AVR-X3600H (love it!) and added four speakers. to my attitude. I have read/watched many good reviews on Fospower plugs and with the two screw design there is NO risk of the wire falling out unless you pull it out. used MaxBrite 14/2 speaker cable (see my separate review) on newer speakers. These connectors will work reliably for either speaker wire, and you could probably even use 12/2 if you wanted to. Considering the price, I thought it was worth getting 12 pairs of connectors per pack. I've ordered two packs and have enough left over to add front height speakers in the future. Overall I'm happy with these banana jacks for the ease of use and the fantastic sound I'm getting from my system. Helped you in any way with your decision-making process, please give a "useful" vote for it.
