Original Joe weighs 16 pounds. It is thick steel, galvanized to protect against rust. (A stainless steel juicer costs over $250!) For my purposes in this configuration it will last a LONG time. The action is smooth and the handle flips up when you push it all the way down, making it more compact. That's a good deal. I looked around the local stores and all they had was polypropylene plastic which cost more than the real Joe. Plastic will bend and break under heavy use, but this steel juicer is a real thing, built to last.
