Review on ❄️ Icy Cool Ice Bandana by Michael Eldridge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

about as good as you'd expect

One thing I've learned from reviews is that you have to take the good with the bad. Some people are just unhappy with something, some seem to give reviews that are too good, or they are trying to improve their "wine" rating, etc. But having experienced it myself in tropically wet 85* Florida, I say that it works about as well as you might expect it to work. In other, drier climates, evaporative bandanas work well. However, in areas with higher humidity, you cannot rely on evaporation to keep you cool. Here where I am, hard ice packs are the way to go. and that's it. I tried it out last night during a 2 mile walk and after I finished it in about 45 minutes the bag was still cold and only melted 3/4 of the way. The only weird thing to get used to is that it feels like you're wearing a scarf and your mind can't see that it's not something that's raising the temperature, it's actually keeping it lower. It gets colder when the fabric gets wet, which can be a problem for people who have skin problems and can't stay in contact with something wet for too long. Imagine a wet rag with an ice pack in it. this is how it looks How it is. For the price, you get that when you need real ice and no evaporation to cool you down. and it works. Considering the timeline above, if you order cheap backup ice packs for freezer storage, you can permanently have a fully frozen pack as long as you have 2 backups. They freeze fairly quickly, faster than the advertised 2 hours. and if you really want to, you can take two bandanas and let one dry completely when you go to change the ice. I don't know yet how they will behave in direct sunlight. probably won't stay wet and might melt a little faster, but it still lasts long enough for what I need it for. when i really need it The best option might be a Black Ice product that maintains a constant temperature of around 50 degrees for hours and doesn't get wet at all. but it is 50 dollars. I don't need something that much, but I'd like to try one day. I'm interested in the long cooling times and the use of a "no fabric" material that doesn't retain moisture. it would come first. The only thing I can mention is that you have to consider negative reviews and the size of the people who write them. People with small necks write negative reviews saying they don't fit. For a man with a 16-17 inch neck, it fits perfectly. The last two ice packs are right next to my neck arteries. and I'm not tight even when fully tightened. If you have a narrower neck, it obviously doesn't close completely around your neck. but you don't want that anyway, because you don't want to cut off blood flow in the slightest, especially when you're exercising. So for 10€ that's enough for me. The only problem I had was that they sent the wrong color. but Revain is good at these things and just refunded my money, they didn't even want to refund it. oh yeah, another good use is to just forget that everyone can see you look like a karate guy and tie the thing around your forehead. it works amazingly well to keep you cool. actually now that i've made it this way it's my favorite way to wear it to stay cool.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
